Rick Hutcheson for City Council
Palm Springs, CA, August 21, 2007 – Candidate
for Palm Springs City Council Rick Hutcheson announced today that
he has received the endorsement of the Palm Springs Police Officers
Association.
“We believe that Rick Hutcheson will bring needed development
of tourism-related and other business to Palm Springs, and with that,
the necessary public safety,” said Patrol Officer Troy Castillo,
President of the Association. “The Police Officers Association
is very pleased to endorse Rick Hutcheson for Palm Springs City Council.”
“I appreciate very much this endorsement by the Palm
Springs Police Officers Association,” said Hutcheson. “Better
than anyone, the line officers who protect us daily know what needs
to be improved. I agree with our citizens who insist that the
next City Council must place a higher priority on public safety.
We need a stronger commitment to protect our homes and businesses
from crime.”
Hutcheson serves on the Palm Springs Police Advisory Board and also
is a graduate of the Palm Springs Citizens Police Academy. He is
a strong proponent of making public safety, police and fire protection
top priorities for Palm Springs residents.
Jack Becker, who is President of the Police Advisory Board, also
endorsed Rick Hutcheson today. “Rick has been an active member
of the Police Advisory Board, and I believe that Palm Springs will
benefit in terms of improved safety and security with the election
of Rick Hutcheson to City Council.”
“By serving on the Police Advisory Board and through my involvement
in neighborhood organizations, I’m developing specific ideas
about how to improve public safety,” said Hutcheson. “I
believe that City Council must involve and listen to crime victims,
and law enforcement professionals inside and outside of our Police
Department, and then work together to adopt a detailed action plan.”
Rick Hutcheson is a Palm Springs planning commissioner and co-owner
of Vacation Palm Springs and Greater Palm Springs Realty.
